As year-end approaches, many landowners with a wildlife exemption are being asked for annual reports by their appraisal district. These reports are their way of ensuring that landowners are performing the wildlife practices specified in their plan. These might include brush management, erosion control, predator control, supplemental food, supplemental water, providing shelter, or a census. Adequate documentation would include photos, maps, work log sheets, receipts, and/or census reports. When it comes to documentation, you’re better off erring on the side of too much paperwork. Photos and maps are especially powerful. If you need help with your yearly annual report or would like us to be present during a site inspection, please don’t hesitate to contact Landmark for help.
